If you think auditors are pedantic, you should see what pharmaceutical quality controllers are like. The word ‘anal’ is too mild. As a psychologist acquaintance says, the pharma industry is motivated by the fact that it’s products can kill people, so they are more careful about doing things than any other industry (except probably nuclear).
My problem is that we are on a project at a pharma company, and the amount of documentation and detail required has put the project over budget and behind schedule. What particularly frustrates me at the moment is we have to complete a vendor audit. My point is that the company appointed us to provide the licence and do the implementation, now they want us to answer more questions. It seems like closing the barn door after the horse has bolted.
